Or Harim (אוֹר הָרִים) means “Mountain Light.” We are an Earth-based Jewish spiritual community rooted on Cherokee land in the Asheville, NC area. We seek to uplift the sacredness of all life, gratitude for those who came before us, and responsibility to future generations. People from all backgrounds are welcome to join our holiday and Shabbat gatherings, which include songful ritual and potlucks!

High Holidays with Or Harim

September 13th, 4pm - Rosh Hashanah Tashlich & Potluck at Bent Creek

During the Tashlich ritual, we cast away what we need to let go of before the New Year, using leaves and stones thrown into living water. Following the ceremony, we will dip apples and honey for a sweet New Year, eat a round sweet challah (with raisins), blow the shofar, and share a potluck Rosh Hashanah feast. September 20th-21st - Yom Kippur Retreat at Sun Song

Join us for potent Kol Nidrei and Yom Kippur services outdoors at the beautiful Sun Song community in Barnardsville. Our dear friend, Kohenet, prayer leader, and songster extraordinaire Elana Brody will be joining us from Colorado, along with our awesome local ritual crew including Rena Branson, Billy Jonas, Madelyn ilana, alinahh ever, and Elah Zakarin.
